CELEBRATE THE UPCOMING SPRING SEASON
AN INTERVIEW WITH WINEMAKER, TAYLOR WHELAN
Our transition to organic practices have resulted in light, fresh flavour profiles in our Pinot grapes sourced from three acres in Block 2 and five acres in Block 4.
My top pick of the season is our Syrah from Haynes Creek, a site situated on south-west facing slopes in South Okanagan.
I have to say this vintage is the best yet, perfectly resembling what the North Okanagan can achieve in terms of terroir.
This Block of Riesling was planted in 1991 making it home to some of the oldest vines on the property. These vines love to retain acidity so a late pick was essential to capturing just the right balance of freshness and fruit This wine was inspired by some of the really great German Rieslings wines, which often have intense fruit profiles as well as great acidity. The 2020 vintage was a great one and this block was the last fruit picked. It was fermented in a mixture of oak and stainless steel. The resulting wine is beautifully balanced and fresh.

We have taken all the time and attention to make the best wines possible in our portfolio, using special grapes sourced from our old vines in Home Block vineyard. This site is unique due to its proximity to Okanagan Lake, as well as the cooler summers and warmer winters. Given the northwest aspect, hence, the namesake for the collection and club.”

Our Winter Winemaker’s Dinner brings together a fusion of flavorful ingredients from the North Okanagan, along with a special selection of CedarCreek Estate Wines. Explore the magic of Pinot Noir with your host, Winemaker Taylor Whelan, alongside an indulgent, four-course, wine-inspired feast from Home Block Restaurant, courtesy of Executive Chef Neil Taylor.

Join us for the Sunset Grooves & Wines Series at CedarCreek Estate Winery. Special wines, spectacular sunsets and local musicians for your enjoyment every other Thursday this summer, starting June 15th.
Enjoy a glass of our Jagged Rock Sparkling Rosé while you listen to some of Kelowna’s best local artists. Home Block Restaurant will be on the scene serving up their signature Pulled Pork sandwiches, charcuterie boards and other small bites, and our award-winning wines will be available for purchase by-the-glass or by-the-bottle.
